Over the last year brands have increasingly used offers like free shipping, % off, $ off, and more to incentivize email subscribers to purchase. Yes Lifecycle Marketing studied the performance of 6 different types of offers in email subject lines to identify the most effective ones. Key findings include:
  • Offers were used in 30% of all email subject lines and in nearly half of retail-only subject lines
  • Across all industries, incentives related to loyalty programs outperformed all other offers, generating the highest engagement rates
  • On average, emails without an offer in the subject line boasted higher open and click rates than those promoting specific incentives
